Usage Note

Umore primarily means a person's current emotional state — essere di buon umore ('to be in a good mood') and essere di cattivo umore ('to be in a bad mood') are standard phrases. It can also mean 'humour' in the sense of wit (senso dell'umorismo). Note that the English loanword 'humor' ('comedy') is better expressed as umorismo in Italian.
