Estasi is feminine and invariable in the plural: l'estasi, le estasi. It denotes an overwhelming feeling of joy or a trance-like religious or mystical state. The phrase essere in estasi (to be in ecstasy/rapture) is common. The related adjective is estatico (ecstatic). Do not confuse with the drug 'ecstasy', which Italians call ecstasy (the English word) or MDMA.
