emozionato

excited

adjective eh-moh-tsyoh-NAH-toh Rare

Also means

moved, emotional

Usage Note

Emozionato describes the state of being stirred by emotion — excitement, nervousness, or being moved — rather than a specific feeling like happiness or sadness. It is closer to English 'thrilled' or 'moved' than simply 'emotional'. The form agrees in gender (emozionata for feminine). Do not confuse with emotivo, which describes a personality trait (an emotional person by nature); emozionato is a temporary state.

Examples

"Era molto emozionato prima del concerto."

Natural Translation

He was very excited before the concert.
