Usage Note
Ore is the plural of ora (hour). It is used in telling the time: sono le tre ('it's three o'clock', literally 'they are the three hours'). The singular ora means both 'hour' and 'now'. Note that Italian uses le ore with a plural verb for clock times, unlike English. Ore piccole ('small hours') means the early hours of the morning.
Examples
