ogni

every

determiner OH-nyee Common

Origin: from Latin omnis

Also means

each

Usage Note

Ogni means 'every/each' and is invariable, always followed by a singular noun (ogni giorno = 'every day'), even though the meaning is collective. It cannot stand alone; for the pronoun 'everyone' Italian uses ognuno. With numbers it spaces out frequency (ogni due ore).

Examples

"Studio italiano ogni giorno."

Natural Translation

I study Italian every day.

Literal Translation

I-study Italian every day.
