Usage Note
Nervosismo describes a persistent state of nervous tension or edginess, slightly more intense than agitazione (agitation). It differs from the adjective nervoso ('nervous', 'irritable') and from ansia (anxiety, with a clinical or existential edge). It is masculine despite referring to an emotional state.
