Gluteo is the anatomical term for the gluteal muscle (gluteus maximus, medius, minimus). In everyday speech Italians more often say sedere or natiche (buttocks), while gluteo and its plural glutei are typical of fitness, medicine, and anatomy contexts: esercizi per i glutei (glute exercises). The plural glutei is regular.
