felicità
happiness
noun feh-lee-chee-TAH Less Common
Origin: From Latin felicitas, from felix (happy, fortunate).
Usage Note
Felicità is invariable — like all Italian nouns ending in an accented -tà, it does not change in the plural. The accent on the final syllable forces stress there. The related adjective is felice and the adverb is felicemente. Compare allegria (cheerfulness, a more immediate, lively joy) — felicità is deeper and more lasting.
Examples
"La sua felicità era evidente."
Natural Translation
His happiness was evident.
