Usage Note
Anzitutto is a single fused word (from anzi + tutto) used to open a list of reasons or priorities: anzitutto, dobbiamo parlare (first of all, we need to talk). It is slightly more formal than prima di tutto and is commonly used in written Italian and formal speech. It is invariable and always placed at the start of a clause or sentence.
