Usage Note
Allarmare means to cause alarm or worry; the reflexive allarmarsi means 'to become alarmed' or 'to worry'. It takes avere (or essere reflexively). The noun allarme (alarm) is related — dare l'allarme means 'to raise the alarm'. Unlike English 'alarm', it rarely refers to a clock or device.
