Vapore means steam or vapor in general. A vapore ('by steam') appears in locomotiva a vapore (steam locomotive) and cucina a vapore (steam cooking). Il vapore acqueo is the scientific term for water vapor. Do not confuse with nebbia (fog) — vapore is water in its gaseous state.
