Usage Note
Rovescio has several meanings: the reverse or wrong side of fabric (al rovescio = inside out, backwards); a heavy downpour (un rovescio di pioggia); and in tennis, a backhand stroke. A rovescio as an adverb means 'the wrong way round' or 'upside down.' Don't confuse with rovine (ruins) or rovesciare (to overturn).
