Usage Note

Quaderno is the standard school notebook in Italy — a lined or squared exercise book. Do not confuse with taccuino (a pocket notepad) or agenda (a planner/diary). The plural quaderni is regular. Every Italian schoolchild fills stacks of quaderni each year.
