prematuro
premature, early
adjective preh-mah-TOO-roh Rare
Origin: Latin praematurus (too early ripe), from prae- (before) + maturus (ripe).
Also means
hasty, untimely
Usage Note
Prematuro describes something occurring before the right or expected time. Un parto prematuro is a premature birth; una conclusione prematura is a premature conclusion. It is a false friend with English: in Italian prematuro never means 'premature' in the sense of 'bold' or 'presumptuous,' only 'too early.'
Examples
"Qualsiasi giudizio sarebbe prematuro ora."
Natural Translation
Any judgment would be premature now.
