Usage Note
Posare means to set something down (posare il bicchiere = to put the glass down) and also to pose for a photo or painting (posare per un ritratto = to pose for a portrait). It takes avere in compound tenses. The reflexive posarsi means 'to land/alight' (of a bird or insect): la farfalla si è posata sul fiore (the butterfly landed on the flower).
