Paradiso (m) is used both in the religious sense ('Heaven' — il Paradiso) and informally for any blissful place or situation. Questo posto è un paradiso ('This place is paradise'). It is the title of the third canticle of Dante's Divina Commedia. The antonym is inferno (Hell).
