Usage Note
Musa is feminine. With a capital letter it refers to one of the nine Greek Muses (la Musa della poesia); in lowercase it describes any person or thing that inspires an artist: lei è la sua musa. The plural le muse is regular. Do not confuse with musica ('music') — the two are related etymologically but distinct.
