Mattutino is the formal or literary adjective for 'morning'; in everyday speech Italians often prefer simply del mattino. Mattutino is also a noun in religious contexts: il Mattutino is the canonical hour of Matins (early-morning prayer). The agreement follows standard -o/-a/-i/-e patterns.
