Usage Note
Intendenza refers to a regional administrative or supply authority, historically the office of an intendente (intendant) in pre-Unification Italian states. In modern Italian it survives mainly in institutional names: Intendenza di Finanza was the provincial revenue office (now replaced by the Agenzia delle Entrate). It is a formal, bureaucratic term with little everyday usage. Its plural is intendenze.
