Impotenza has two senses: the abstract feeling of helplessness (un senso di impotenza — a feeling of powerlessness) and the medical condition of erectile dysfunction. Context makes the meaning clear; in medical contexts disfunzione erettile is now preferred. It is always feminine: l'impotenza.
