Also means
to realize
Usage Note
Accorgere is almost always used in the reflexive: accorgersi di qualcosa ('to notice / become aware of something'). It is irregular: past participle accorto, and it takes essere as its auxiliary in compound tenses (mi sono accorto dell'errore = 'I noticed the mistake'). Do not confuse the verb with the adjective accorto ('shrewd, cautious').
Examples
"Non mi sono accorto dell'errore."
Natural Translation
I didn't notice the mistake.
Literal Translation
Not myself I-am noticed of-the mistake.
