Usage Note
Imbottire means to stuff or pad something — imbottire un cuscino = to stuff a cushion, una giacca imbottita = a padded jacket. It is also used figuratively and colloquially: imbottirsi di farmaci = to stuff oneself with medicines. The past participle imbottito is very common as an adjective. It follows the regular -ire pattern without the -isc- infix. Auxiliary is avere.
