Geografia refers both to the academic subject and to the physical configuration of a place: la geografia del territorio ('the geography of the territory'). The stress falls on the final syllable: geo-gra-FÌ-a. The adjective is geografico, the specialist is geografo. Plural: geografie (rare, usually uncountable).
