Gabinetto is the everyday Italian word for a toilet or lavatory (andare al gabinetto). In a formal/political register it means the cabinet of ministers (il Gabinetto del Ministro). In older usage it also referred to a small private study. The more polite everyday term for bathroom is bagno.
