entità
entity; magnitude
noun en-tee-TAH Less Common
Origin: Latin entitas, from ens (being)
Usage Note
Entità is invariable in the plural — le entità does not add a new ending because the final stressed vowel freezes the form. It is used both for abstract entities (un'entità giuridica = a legal entity) and for the scale or magnitude of something (l'entità del danno = the extent of the damage).
Examples
"L'entità del danno è ancora sconosciuta."
Natural Translation
The extent of the damage is still unknown.
