Usage Note

Antropologia encompasses the study of human societies, cultures, and evolution. Italian universities distinguish antropologia culturale (cultural anthropology) from antropologia fisica (physical/biological anthropology). The plural antropologie is rare and academic. Note the stress falls on the final -ia syllable: antro-po-lo-GI-a.
