Usage Note
Anticomunista ends in -ista, a suffix that is invariable for gender in Italian: un politico anticomunista / una legge anticomunista. The plural forms are anticomunisti (m pl) and anticomuniste (f pl). It is used in historical and political contexts. In postwar Italian politics, anticommunism was a defining feature of the dominant Christian Democracy party (Democrazia Cristiana).
