Origin: Latin vendere (to sell), contraction of venum dare (to give for sale)

Usage Note

Vendere is a regular -ere verb with auxiliary avere: ho venduto la casa ('I sold the house'). The past participle venduto is regular. The noun vendita means 'sale', while venditore/venditrice is 'seller/salesperson'.
