Usage Note
Tresca originally referred to a type of lively folk dance but now primarily means a secret love affair or an intrigue (una tresca amorosa). The dance sense is archaic. It carries a negative connotation of secrecy and betrayal, stronger than relazione (relationship). The plural is tresche.
