Usage Note
Testare is a calque of English 'to test', now standard in Italian technical, medical, and everyday use: testare un software (to test software), testare un farmaco (to test a drug). It takes avere as auxiliary. The noun il test (also borrowed from English) is invariable in Italian: i test, never i testi in this sense.
Examples
