Usage Note
Taxi is an invariable noun — the plural is identical: i taxi (the taxis). It is always masculine: il taxi, un taxi. The driver is il tassista (m/f epicene). In everyday speech Italians also say prendere un taxi or chiamare un taxi just as in English.
