Usage Note
Svegliare is the transitive verb 'to wake (someone) up', taking the auxiliary avere. The reflexive svegliarsi ('to wake up') takes essere: mi sono svegliato alle sette ('I woke up at seven'). The everyday meaning of 'I wake up' is rendered with the reflexive, not the bare transitive.
Examples
"Devo svegliarmi presto domani."
Natural Translation
I have to wake up early tomorrow.
Literal Translation
I-must wake-myself-up early tomorrow.
