superfice

surface

noun soo-PER-fee-cheh Rare

Origin: From Latin superficies (surface, from super + facies).

Also means

area

Usage Note

Superfice is a less common variant of superficie (the standard form); both are correct, but superficie is far more frequent in educated written Italian and should be preferred. Superfice can appear in older texts and some regional usage. The standard form superficie is feminine: la superficie, le superfici.

Examples

"La superfice del tavolo è liscia e lucida."

Natural Translation
