strapazzare

to mistreat

verb strah-paht-TSAH-reh Rare

Also means

to scramble (eggs)

Usage Note

Strapazzare has two main uses: to treat someone roughly or to overwork them (non strapazzarti — don't overdo it / don't wear yourself out), and in cooking, uova strapazzate are scrambled eggs. The reflexive strapazzarsi means to overexert oneself. It follows regular -are conjugation.
