Also means
to break in two
Usage Note
Spaccare implies a clean, forceful split — more violent than rompere (to break). It takes avere. The colloquial phrase spacca tutto ('it smashes everything') is also used informally to mean 'it's amazing.' Spaccarsi reflexively means 'to crack open' or 'to split.'
Examples
"Ha spaccato il legno con un colpo."
Natural Translation
He split the wood with one blow.
