Usage Note
Solamente is interchangeable with solo used as an adverb, but is more emphatic and formal. Both mean 'only/merely'. Solo is far more frequent in speech; solamente tends to appear in writing or where the speaker wishes to stress exclusivity. Neither form changes for gender or number.
