sinora

until now

adverb see-NOH-rah Rare

Also means

so far

Usage Note

Sinora is a more formal or literary variant of finora (until now, so far), itself a contraction of fino a ora. Both are interchangeable, but sinora appears more often in written and elevated registers. It is invariable and typically placed at the beginning or end of a clause. Do not confuse with ancora (still / yet), which has a different scope.

Examples

"Sinora non abbiamo ricevuto risposta."
