Usage Note

Routine is an unassimilated French loanword, fully accepted in Italian. It is invariable: la routine / le routine. It refers to a habitual sequence of actions (la routine quotidiana = daily routine) or, in computing/entertainment, a set procedure. It is always feminine. Do not add an Italian plural ending — le routine, never le routines.
