prefissato

preset, pre-established

adjective preh-fees-SAH-toh Rare

Usage Note

Prefissato is the past participle of prefissare (to fix in advance) used as an adjective meaning agreed or set beforehand — obiettivo prefissato (preset target), orario prefissato (pre-arranged schedule). Do not confuse it with prefisso (telephone dialling code or linguistic prefix), which is a separate noun from prefigere. The feminine is prefissata.

Examples

"Ha raggiunto l'obiettivo prefissato in anticipo."
