Perizia covers two related senses: professional skill or expertise (con grande perizia = with great skill), and a formal expert appraisal or survey (perizia tecnica = technical survey, perizia psichiatrica = psychiatric assessment). In legal contexts a perito is a court-appointed expert who produces a perizia. Do not confuse with precisione (precision) or valutazione (valuation).
