Usage Note
Novazione is a strictly legal term: it refers to the extinguishing of an old obligation and its replacement with a new one, involving the same or different parties. It has almost no everyday use outside contract and civil law. Do not confuse with innovazione (innovation). The plural novazioni is regular.
