La nautica is feminine and invariable in the plural (le scienze nautiche for the plural concept). It refers both to the science of navigation and, loosely, to the leisure boating industry: salone della nautica ('boat show'). The adjective nautico describes anything related to sailing or navigation: carta nautica ('nautical chart').
