Usage Note
Misto follows regular -o/-a/-i/-e agreement and also functions as the past participle of mescolare/misto in older usage. In food contexts insalata mista (mixed salad) and fritto misto (mixed fry) are standard menu items. In education una classe mista means a mixed-gender class.
