Usage Note
Miccia primarily means the fuse of an explosive device or the wick of a candle/lamp. Figuratively, accendere la miccia (to light the fuse) means to spark a conflict or provocation. The plural is le micce. Do not confuse with stoppino, which can also mean wick but in a candle context; miccia has a stronger association with explosives and detonators.
Examples
"Ha acceso la miccia e si è allontanato."
Natural Translation
He lit the fuse and moved away.
