Usage Note
Marziano literally means an inhabitant of Mars, but colloquially it describes someone who seems completely out of touch with reality or social norms: sembra un marziano ('he seems like someone from another planet'). As an adjective it means 'Martian' (paesaggio marziano = Martian landscape). Feminine: marziana.
