Usage Note
Leggere has an irregular past participle, letto (ho letto un libro, 'I read a book'). Keep it apart from the adjective leggero ('light, not heavy'), which looks similar but adds an -o. The g is soft before the e.
Examples
"Mi piace leggere la sera."
Natural Translation
I like reading in the evening.
Literal Translation
To-me pleases to-read the evening.
