integralista

fundamentalist

noun een-teh-grah-LEES-tah Rare

Usage Note

Integralista denotes someone who adheres rigidly and uncompromisingly to an ideology or belief, most often religious fundamentalism (integralista islamico), but also political extremism. As a noun it is grammatically masculine but takes feminine form integralista for women too (both genders share the same -ista ending in the singular; plural: integralisti m / integraliste f). Do not confuse with integrista, which has the same meaning but a slightly different formation.

Examples
