Also means
to damage
Usage Note
Incrinare means to crack a surface or, figuratively, to damage a relationship or atmosphere — incrinare un'amicizia ('to damage a friendship'). It takes avere in compound tenses. The reflexive incrinarsi means the crack appears on its own: il vetro si è incrinato ('the glass cracked').
Examples
"L'incidente ha incrinato la loro amicizia."
Natural Translation
The accident damaged their friendship.
