Impiegare means to employ a worker or to use resources, but very commonly means 'to take time': ci impiego un'ora ('it takes me an hour'). It is regular -are but inserts an h in spelling like impieghiamo to keep the hard g. The reflexive impiegarsi means 'to get a job'.
