Giurato as an adjective means 'sworn' (nemico giurato, 'sworn enemy'). As a noun un giurato / una giurata means 'a juror' in a court or a jury panel. It is the past participle of giurare (to swear). The collective noun for the jury is la giuria (not i giurati, though that plural is used for the individual members).
